Gisselle Barnhart
My career in glass fusing began while apprenticing with a local master glass artist, where I learned traditional stained and leaded glass techniques. After several years, I ventured into new-generation warm glass which immediately became my passion. As I experimented with fused glass, I continuously evolved my techniques by studying other artists and continuously testing and learning in my studio. Still, after almost a decade, rarely does a day that goes by where I am not eagerly anticipating the results when I open the kiln.
I use the beautiful topography, natural landscapes and sea life of our area as inspiration for my artwork. Many of my pieces are displayed in custom metal frames or uniquely carved into pecky cypress wood - which is indigenous to the area. I've designed and installed customized stained glass windows, framed panels, table centerpieces and mantle displays, as well as custom design fused glass mosaic walls.
I create using my life's philosophy that nothing is impossible and love the challenge of finding new ways to let my glass come to life!
